Sunday Scripture Reflections
Compiled and Edited by James Thayil cmi
SECOND SUNDAY OF LENT: YEAR B
Genesis 22:1-2,9-13,15-18; Romans 8:31-34; Mark 9:2-10
Transfiguration

To journey with Jesus
is to follow Him wherever he goes:
To the wilderness of temptations, to the mountains of glory, to the garden of Gethsemane, to the cross of death, to tomb of resurrection and
to the doors of eternal light.
This is a journey of commitment, faith and love.

Jesus does not rush.
He pauses, stops, looks, listens and then proceeds.
When I travel with Him,
I also need to stop where He would, look at the realities of life as He would, listen to Him as He would listen to the father and keep going wherever he would lead me.
As I journey with Him I come to learn that my life is a mixture of agony and glory.
There is no experience that I can keep frozen,
No sight or vision so perfect that God cannot better.
I need to let go and proceed.
Journey with Jesus is a journey into transformation.
As I look deep into the inner chamber of myself and listen intently to the Eternal word of the Savior I realize the true image of myself and the true purpose of my being.

I stop with Jesus today,
Listen today with His ears,
Look the very same look of compassion Jesus has
And proceed with Him in resolve to do His will.
